Released

Charles was released from the hospital with a feeding tube. He would not eat so to help him gain his strength he had to have the tube to be released. We were home for about 6 days when Charles decided to pull out the tube, the Dr thought that he was more alert and stronger so we could keep it out. Charles has been working with his OT on feeding and has been making progress on the amount he has been taking. Unfortunately I had to take him to the Dr today because he had an ingrown toe nail that was infected so they had to put him on antibiotics. While we were there he was weighed and has lost weight if we do not see a great improvement in his weight by Thursday they are putting the feeding tube back in. Charles is working so hard to eat that he is burning more calories than taking in. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.
On a positive side he is starting to smile which has been great to see he has become stronger and his PT is very proud of him. He is really starting to come around and his personality is coming out.

We wanted to thank all of you for praying for us during this time. Charles had his MRI which showed no cysts!!!! All the Drs were amazed and could not figure out where they went or why they were no longer there. Charlie and I knew that only God could take them away and He did. What an answer to prayer and a testimony to all medical staff involved as we told them everyone had been praying for Charles. Unfortunately during the MRI Charles stopped breathing and had to be intubated and rushed to the intensive care unit where he stayed for 3 hours before he was able to breathe on his own and before they let us see him. We were released Saturday but had to take Charles back to Children's Hospital Sunday as he was not eating and was having trouble breathing. He was re-admitted into the hospital and is on oxygen and iv fluids still. They are hoping that he will continue to get stronger so they can do some other tests which require him to be back to his normal self. Please continue to keep us in your prayers and the medical staff as they treat him.
